Tinubu expresses condolences over the tragic death of Saudi Prince in plane crash

President Bola Tinubu conveyed his condolences on Saturday to King Salman of Saudi Arabia and the Royal House of Saudi for the tragic demise of Prince Talal bin Abdulaziz bin Bandar Al Saud. The prince lost his life in a jet crash on Thursday, as reported by the Saudi Royal Court.

The announcement from the Saudi Royal Court revealed that Prince Talal Bin Abdulaziz met his untimely end in the crash of a Saudi Arabian Air Force F-15SA fighter plane in Dhahran on December 7.

However, the statement did not provide details about the specific injuries that led to the prince’s death.

At the age of 62, Prince Talal, who was on a training mission, lost his life alongside another pilot in the unfortunate incident.

The final ceremonies for Talal will take place at the Imam Turki bin Abdullah Mosque in Riyadh, as announced by the monarchy.

President Tinubu, through a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, expressed sorrow over the passing.

He recognized the late Prince’s exceptional and devoted service to his country, highlighting his distinguished career in the Royal Saudi Air Force and the Saudi Intelligence Agency.

In the statement titled ‘President Tinubu Mourns Saudi Prince Talal Bin Abdulaziz Bin Bandar Al Saud,’ President Tinubu offered his prayers to God Almighty, seeking solace for the departed soul and comfort for the Royal House of Saud, the Kingdom, and all those affected by this profound loss.

Prince Talal becomes part of a series of Saudi Royals who have either been implicated in or suffered fatalities in aviation accidents. This trend dates back to a 2017 helicopter crash that claimed the life of Prince Mansour bin Muqrin and seven others near the Saudi-Yemeni border.
