2024 pilgrimage: Christians to pay N3m

In anticipation of the upcoming main pilgrimage to Rome and Greece in 2023/2024, the Nigeria Christian Pilgrims Commission has disclosed the details and expenses associated with the pilgrimage package.

The announcement, conveyed through a statement signed by Celestine Toruka, the Director and Head of Media and Public Relations, was released on Friday.

The statement, dated December 28, 2023, and addressed to the chairmen and secretaries of all States Christian Pilgrims Welfare Boards, outlines that the pilgrimage is set to commence at the end of the current month.

The commission has set the cost for the pilgrimage to Rome and Greece at N3,000,000 per pilgrim, covering expenses such as return flights, hotel accommodation, three-course meals daily, and guided tours of holy sites in both Rome and Greece.

These services will be provided through Executive luxurious buses over a duration of six nights and seven days. It is emphasized, however, that the cost does not include allowances for traveling pilgrims.

The statement urges states that had previously paid for pilgrimages to Israel and Jordan to reconcile any outstanding differences to facilitate their participation in the upcoming pilgrimage to Rome and Greece.

Additionally, the commission encourages both states and private pilgrims to complete their payments before the last day of January 2024, ensuring that services are rendered promptly.
