Lt. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, the Chief of Army Staff, has directed troops to escalate their efforts against terrorists wreaking havoc in Plateau and nearby states.
This order follows a recent attack in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State, where at least 33 people lost their lives. The Army Chief’s directive emphasizes a more aggressive stance against these militants, particularly in light of previous attacks that claimed over 100 lives in Bokkos and Barkin-Ladi LGs during Christmas Eve. Maj. Gen. Onyema Nwachukwu, the Director of Army Public Relations, conveyed the Army Chief’s message during his visit to the state, emphasizing the need for a decisive response to combat the terrorist threat.
