PRESS RELEASE RECRUITMENT OF POLICE CONSTABLES IN GENERAL DUTY/SPECIALISTS CADRES: PHYSICAL/CREDENTIALS SCREENING SCHEDULED NATIONWIDE FROM JANUARY 8, 2024

  • Emphasizing No Charges for Applicants

The Nigeria Police Force, acting on behalf of the recruitment board, is pleased to announce the initiation of the physical/credentials screening for candidates applying for the position of Police Constables in both the General Duty and Specialist Cadres of the Nigeria Police Force.

The Physical and Credential Screening Exercise is set to take place nationwide from January 8th to January 29th, 2024. During this period, prospective candidates are required to present themselves in person to determine their eligibility for service to the nation.

All candidates shortlisted for the physical/credentials screening exercise are requested to appear at their designated venues with the following documents:

proof of physical/mental fitness from a government-recognized medical facility, evidence of good character from the village/district head of applicants, original and duplicate copies of the certificate of origin duly signed by the local government chairman or secretary, original and duplicate copies of national identity card/slip, original and duplicate copies of ‘O’ level result(s), birth certificate/declaration of age, print-out of the application form, duly completed guarantor’s form, and invitation slips.

Simultaneously, the general public, particularly applicants, is cautioned against engaging in any criminal activities such as document falsification or forgery during the screening process. Offenders will be apprehended and prosecuted in accordance with existing laws.

The Inspector-General of Police warns against fraudulent activities and the exploitation of the recruitment process for personal gain. It is emphasized that the application and selection process is entirely free and will be conducted through official channels.

Any suspicious activities should be promptly reported to the authorities for necessary action. The IGP assures that the Police Recruitment Board is composed of dedicated and disciplined individuals who will ensure a transparent and merit-based recruitment process free from corruption.
