Aiyedatiwa: 2024 Ondo Poll not for Settling Scores
Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, in his New Year statewide address, said that the upcoming November 16 governorship election in Ondo State should not be a platform for settling political scores.
He urged political actors to avoid violence that could disrupt the peace of the state during the election.
Aiyedatiwa stressed the importance of conducting the election based on ideas and choices, adhering to electoral guidelines. Additionally, he called on the people to intensify prayers for the state’s peace and prosperity.

During his broadcast, Aiyedatiwa paid tribute to his late predecessor, Rotimi Akeredolu, highlighting Akeredolu’s significant contributions to the state and the nation.
He assured a fitting state burial for Akeredolu and pledged to immortalize his name. Aiyedatiwa also committed to prioritizing workers’ welfare and focusing on human capital development, environmental sustainability, rural development, and completing ongoing infrastructural projects.
