Veteran Nollywood actor Zack Orji recently shared a daunting chapter of his life, revealing how he underwent two brain surgeries in Nigeria. Speaking on Channels TV, Orji recounted the terrifying moment when he collapsed in the bathroom, sparking a life-threatening medical emergency. He emphasized the role of divine grace in his survival, as he remained unconscious for nearly five and a half hours before receiving assistance.
Prompted by concerned friends and colleagues, including Benedict Johnson and Labista, Orji was rushed to the National Hospital in Abuja after regaining consciousness. His wife, who was in Lagos at the time, immediately flew to his side. On January 1st, Dr. Biodun Ogungbo, a skilled neurosurgeon, performed the first surgery, which was successful. Orji expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support he received from prominent figures, including the President and First Lady of Nigeria, as well as various ministers.
Following his recovery in Nigeria, Orji sought post-surgery assessment in the UK, consulting with Dr. John Yeh. Reflecting on the ordeal, he reiterated his gratitude to God and the numerous individuals who rallied around him during his time of need. The outpouring of support from across the globe, including offers of assistance from South Africa, the UK, and the US, left Orji deeply touched by the compassion and generosity of others.
