The Nigerian Army reported on Monday that its soldiers, working alongside other forces, killed eight terrorists during an operation in Sambisa Forest, located in Borno State.
During the operation, there was a clash between the troops and the terrorists, resulting in the death of three terrorists and the destruction of their hiding places in the forest. Additionally, some terrorists were injured and fled the scene.
In a statement by the Director of Army Public Relations, Major General Onyema Nwachukwu, it was revealed that the troops recovered weapons and other items belonging to the terrorists, including locally made guns, motorbikes, and food supplies. Another operation conducted in Katsina State resulted in the elimination of two terrorists and the recovery of weapons and communication devices.
