The Rivers State Police Command has apprehended Blessing Godday, a 32-year-old pregnant woman, in connection with the fatal stabbing of Mrs. Imeran Idema. The tragic incident unfolded in Adada community within the Abua/Odual Local Government Area of the state. Blessing stands accused of fatally stabbing Idema during a confrontation allegedly sparked by the theft of a bunch of plantains.
Reports suggest that Blessing, a mother of nine, purportedly stole the plantains to feed her children. Mrs. Idema, who was overseeing the plantation for her family, intervened to prevent Blessing from absconding with the stolen produce. This intervention escalated into a heated argument, culminating in Blessing allegedly resorting to violence, resulting in Idema’s untimely demise. Despite the incident occurring on January 28, 2003, Blessing was only apprehended by authorities on Friday.
