In a recent ruling at the Ekiti State Chief Magistrate Court, Ado Ekiti District, a 20-year-old named Ugar Ebenezer received a four-year prison sentence for the theft of electric cables valued at N1.4 million.
Ebenezer faced charges of breaking and stealing, brought before Magistrate Dolamu Babalogbon on August 23, 2022. The charges outlined his alleged actions on August 18, 2022, at Elemi Street, Off Afao Road, Ado Ekiti, where he purportedly unlawfully entered the residence of Daramola Olubunmi and absconded with bundles of copper wire valued at N1.4 million, belonging to Olubunmi.
