On Monday, the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company announced plans to disconnect power to both the Presidential Villa and 86 Federal Government Ministries, Departments, and Agencies due to outstanding debts totaling N47.195 billion as of December 2023.
Among the affected entities are the Chief of Defence Staff – Barracks and Military Formations owing N12 billion, as well as several key ministries including FCT Ministry, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Information, Ministry of Education, and Ministry of Agriculture.
Additionally, entities such as the Federal Inland Revenue Service, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Budget and Planning, Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Ministry of Interior, and others are also on the list of those facing disconnection.
