In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Tersoo Kula, Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State has affirmed his allegiance to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), emphasizing his unwavering support for the party.
The governor’s declaration comes in response to recent accusations by the Benue chapter of the APC, alleging that he has neglected the party and chosen to collaborate with opposition political groups.
The dedication of Governor Hyacinth Alia to the All Progressives Congress (APC) is underlined in a statement from his Chief Press Secretary, Tersoo Kula.
In the announcement made in Makurdi on Sunday, the governor asserted his love for the APC and assured that he would not engage in any actions contrary to the interests of the party.
This declaration follows accusations by the Benue chapter of the APC, accusing the governor of neglecting the party in favor of collaborating with opposition political factions.
Furthermore, the governor was accused of assembling and financially supporting a five-member committee with the purpose of disseminating inaccurate information about the state’s APC chapter to both the Presidency and the APC National Secretariat.
However, Governor Alia refuted these allegations, asserting his deep affection for the APC, particularly the Benue chapter. He emphasized his dedicated efforts to bring pride to the party.
In dismissing the accusations, Governor Alia highlighted the absurdity of one particular claim, which alleged the formation and financial backing of a committee led by retired Gen. Lawrence Onoja and Mr.
Emmanuel Jime. This committee was purportedly assigned the task of providing misleading information to the Presidency and the APC National Secretariat concerning the situation in Benue.
The committee is also alleged to be tasked with disseminating false information about the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF).
In my capacity as governor, I am resolute in my commitment to fulfilling the promises I made during my campaign to the people of Benue.
The ongoing financial support for our party’s activities and the broadening of stakeholders’ meetings in the state serve as clear indications of my profound dedication to the party, affirmed the governor.
