Heartbreaking News: Ohio Grandmother Accused of Deliberately Shooting 6-Month-Old Grandchild in Head, According to Police
In a horrifying incident that unfolded in Liberty Township, Ohio, an infant is fighting for her life after being intentionally shot in the head by her own grandmother.
The Butler County Sheriff’s Office responded to a distressing call about a shooting at 1:50 a.m. on Saturday, December 9, at a residence in Liberty Township.
Upon arrival, deputies discovered a 6-month-old baby with a gunshot wound to the head. Shockingly, the investigation revealed that the alleged perpetrator, identified as Mia Desiree Harris, had not only opened fire on several family members but specifically targeted her own grandchild before fleeing the scene.
According to the Butler County Sheriff’s Office news release, a heated argument or altercation within the family escalated to the point where Harris reportedly fired shots at her own daughter, narrowly missing her.
Following this, family members moved the daughter to a different room, but Harris continued her violent spree, shooting the defenseless infant without displaying any apparent remorse.
Sheriff Richard Jones shared grim details with WXIX, stating, “She shot and missed at her daughter, I believe. Then, they moved the daughter from one room to the other, and then she went and shot this child and doesn’t appear to have any remorse whatsoever.”
Law enforcement acted swiftly, locating and apprehending Harris shortly after the incident. The 43-year-old grandmother is now facing three counts of felonious assault, reflecting the gravity of the alleged crimes.
