Bandits Kill Man and Abduct Wife, Neighbor in Zamfara

In Buluku, an outskirt of Gusau Local Government Area in Zamfara State, tragedy struck as bandits launched a deadly attack, resulting in the death of Ashiru Nagoma and the abduction of his wife and neighbor. Confirming the incident, the spokesperson for the Zamfara State Police Command, ASP Yazid Abubakar, disclosed the grim details to PUNCH Online on Tuesday.

The assault occurred amid heightened tensions, with reports emerging of bandits targeting worshippers in a mosque during midnight prayers in Gusau town. A security expert, Zagazola Makama, raised an alarm on social media, highlighting the abduction of several worshippers. However, Abubakar clarified that the bandits did not attack the mosque but had a specific target: Ashiru Nagoma. Despite his resistance, Nagoma was fatally shot, and his wife and neighbor were subsequently abducted by the assailants.

Efforts to address the situation are underway, with authorities deploying rescue teams to secure the release of the abducted victims and bring the perpetrators to justice. Abubakar assured the public that investigations are ongoing, emphasizing the commitment of law enforcement agencies to restore peace and safeguard communities from further attacks.
