The Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dele Alake, acknowledges receiving life-threatening messages following his remarks on the connection between banditry and illegal mining in Nigeria.
Alake disclosed this during a visit to the recent explosion site in Ibadan, where five people died, 77 were injured, and 58 houses were damaged. He revealed that the threats began after he highlighted the involvement of influential Nigerians in illegal mining during a National Assembly session.
