Nasarawa Poly Suspends 7 Students For Displaying ‘Indecent Images’ On Social Media

In a recent development, Isa Mustapha Agwai Polytechnic (IMAP) in Nasarawa State has taken disciplinary action by suspending seven students for allegedly sharing immoral pictures on social media during a graduation celebration.

According to a statement released on Saturday by the institution’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Ali Hassan Mohammed, the affected students will be required to resume during the 2023/2024 academic session and present letters of undertaking from their guardians vowing good behavior.

The statement highlighted that the Academic Board of IMAP approved the one-academic-session rustication of the seven students during its meeting on Wednesday, October 4, 2023. The decision was made due to their involvement in displaying indecency, which tarnished the institution’s good reputation.

The suspended students are identified as

Precious Sunday (Reg. No. IMAP/SST/HMT/21/22/0055),

Dorathy Iortyer (Reg. No. IMAP/SST/HMT/21/22/0045),

Sonia Terna (Reg. No. IMAP/SCT/MAC/21/22/0451),

Maureen Nenmo (Reg. No. IMAP/SCT/MAC/21/22/0472),

Maureen Shitile (Reg. No. IMAP/SCT/MAC/22/23/0468),

Atov Hope Yandoo (Reg. No. IMAP/SCT/MAC/21/22/23/0466), and

Joyce Aonrnenge Lembar (Reg. No. IMAP/SST/SLT/21/22/0561).

The Rector of the polytechnic, Dr. Justina Anjiode Kotso, issued a stern warning to all students to avoid engaging in social vices, emphasizing the institution’s commitment to maintaining high standards and academic excellence without compromise.
