Atlanta has witnessed numerous demonstrations since the start of the conflict between Israel and Hamas.

A demonstrator is in critical condition after setting themselves on fire at the Israeli consulate in Atlanta, as reported by the police.

The police chief, Darin Schierbaum, revealed that a Palestinian flag was discovered at the scene, suggesting an “extreme act” of protest. The individual’s gender and age have not been clarified.

Additionally, a security guard, who tried to intervene, sustained injuries. According to information from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, cited by Fox News, the guard suffered burns to their wrist and leg during the incident.

Both the protester and the security guard have been transported to a local hospital.
