In a decisive blow against terrorism in the North-East, the air component of Operation Hadarin Kai (OPHK) conducted precision airstrikes on the hideouts of ISWAP terrorists, resulting in the elimination of over 30 fighters within Kolleram village along Lake Chad’s shores. This success was confirmed through a statement by AVM Edward Gabkwet, the Director of Public Relations and Information for the Nigerian Air Force (NAF), on Tuesday in Abuja. The airstrikes, executed on April 13, yielded significant results, with a post-strike Battle Damage Assessment (BDA) revealing the neutralization of senior commanders like Ali Dawud, Bakura Fallujah, and Mallam Ari, among others.

Gabkwet emphasized that the operation not only targeted terrorist leaders but also destroyed numerous vehicles, motorcycles, and logistical assets, severely impairing the insurgents’ operational capabilities. The airstrikes also obliterated a key facility within the Kolleram enclave, which served as a hub for the terrorists’ food processing activities, including grinding machines. This successful operation underscores NAF’s unwavering commitment to eradicating terrorism and safeguarding the Nigerian populace.

By neutralizing key terrorist figures and dismantling their logistical infrastructure, the airstrikes have significantly degraded the capabilities of the ISWAP group in the region. These aerial operations complement the ongoing efforts of ground forces on the Lake Chad flank and represent a crucial advancement in Nigeria’s fight against terrorism, marking a significant step forward in ensuring the safety and security of the nation’s citizens.
