Troops neutralize three bandits, rescue six hostages

In a strategic move to curb terrorist activities in Sokoto State, the troops of Operation Hadarain Daji (OPHD) conducted a series of coordinated clearance and offensive operations.

According to Captain Ibrahim Yahaya, the spokesperson for the OPHD task force, the offensive clearance operation occurred on December 14, 2023, targeting Bauni village and Bauni forest.

The operation resulted in a prolonged gun duel, showcasing the troops’ aggressiveness and firepower superiority. As a consequence, the terrorists were compelled to abandon their hideouts, fleeing in disarray.

The successful mission led to the rescue of six kidnapped victims.

Captain Ibrahim Yahaya further reported that three terrorists were neutralized during the encounter, and the troops recovered two AK-47 rifles, 19 magazines, ammunition, two Dane guns, motorcycles, radios (walkie-talkies), and various other items.

All identified terrorist enclaves were swiftly destroyed, and recovered motorcycles were rendered inoperable during the operation.

The resolute efforts of Operation Hadarain Daji continue to demonstrate a commitment to securing the region and rescuing victims from the clutches of terror.
