Tinubu appoints 6 directors for NPA and NIMASA

On Thursday, President Bola Tinubu took decisive action by appointing six new Executive Directors to enhance the operations of two key agencies under the Federal Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy.

In a statement released by the presidential spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale, it was disclosed that the President made three appointments for each of the agencies, namely the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) and the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA).

Vivian Edet was selected as the Executive Director for Finance & Administration at NPA, while Olalekan Badmus assumed the position of Executive Director for Marine & Operations at the same agency.

Additionally, Ibrahim Umar was appointed as the Executive Director for Engineering & Technical Services at NPA.

Turning attention to NIMASA, President Tinubu appointed Jibril Abba to the position of Executive Director for Maritime Labour & Cabotage Services.

Chudi Offodile was appointed as the Executive Director for Finance & Administration, and Fatai Adeyemi took on the role of Executive Director for Operations.

The President expressed confidence in the capabilities of the newly appointed directors, anticipating that they would effectively collaborate to fulfill their collective mandate.

Specifically, the President stressed their role in creating conducive conditions to significantly boost the contribution of the Marine & Blue Economy sector to the nation’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP). This strategic move reflects President Tinubu’s commitment to the growth and development of crucial sectors within the country.
