Russia’s defense ministry announced on Thursday that its forces successfully prevented a purported Ukrainian assault on Russian installations in Crimea. They claimed to have intercepted and neutralized 10 Ukrainian missiles aimed at the peninsula.
According to Reuters, Ukraine has allegedly carried out several impactful strikes on Crimea, including on the bridge connecting the region to Russia, throughout the 22-month conflict.
The annexation of Crimea by Russia in 2014 has been a point of contention, with Kyiv persistently demanding its return from Moscow.
