The Presidency has firmly denied claims of a snub by the Qatari government towards President Bola Tinubu. In a statement released by Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, it was clarified that the failed investment forum between the Nigerian and Qatari business communities was merely one among several events preceding the President’s State Visit to Qatar scheduled for March 2-3, 2023. Onanuga stressed that insinuations of a snub are unfounded, highlighting Tinubu’s slated attendance as a distinguished guest during the crucial State Visit.
According to Onanuga, it would be inaccurate to interpret the absence of success in the business and investment forum as a sign of disregard from Qatari authorities towards the Nigerian leader. He emphasized the strategic importance of Tinubu’s upcoming visit, reaffirming the strong diplomatic ties between Nigeria and Qatar.
