On Monday, the “Take It Back Movement,” a human rights group, rallied on the streets of Lagos State to protest against the skyrocketing prices of food and the overall high cost of living in the country. Despite warnings from Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Adegoke Fayoade, the demonstrators voiced their grievances unabated.
Commissioner Fayoade, issuing a caution on Sunday, assured the public of police readiness to maintain safety during the protest. He emphasized the importance of preserving traffic flow and ensuring a peaceful environment for residents to carry out their lawful activities. However, the protesters remained undeterred, viewing the demonstration as a vital expression of resistance against oppressive conditions and economic hardships, as stated by the TIB National Coordinator, Juwon Sanyaolu.
