A newborn baby abandoned inside a polythene bag along Alhaji Masha Road in Surulere, Lagos, was rescued by detectives from the Lagos State Police Command. The infant’s cries were heard by a social worker, who promptly alerted the Surulere police station upon discovery around 5am.
According to Benjamin Hundeyin, the Lagos State police spokesman, the baby boy was swiftly taken to Randle General Hospital for medical attention. Fortunately, he was responding well to treatment, thanks to the timely intervention of the authorities.
