Kano Police arrest fake doctor for injecting pregnant teenager to death
In Kano State, law enforcement officials have apprehended a 24-year-old individual named Chidera Ugwu, who is accused of posing as a fraudulent medical doctor specializing in performing abortions for unwanted pregnancies.
The spokesperson for the police command, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, made this announcement through a statement issued to DAILY POST.
As per Kiyawa, the arrest unfolded after receiving a complaint on 20/12/2023 around 10:30 AM from Nura Balarabe of Tofa LGA Kano.
The complaint detailed that Ukasha Muhammed of Langel Village, Tofa LGA Kano, impregnated Balarabe’s 19-year-old sister and collaborated with Chidera Ugwu to administer fatal injections leading to her demise.
The suspects, upon arrest, admitted to the crime. Further investigations unveiled that Chidera Ugwu was masquerading as a fake doctor, allegedly administering lethal injections to pregnant women, resulting in tragic outcomes.
Kiyawa stressed that the arrest is part of the ongoing initiatives by the command to protect the lives and well-being of all residents within the State.
