Former Deputy Governor of Kwara State, Kisira, Passes Away at 74

Former Deputy Governor of Kwara State, Peter Kisira, has passed away at the age of 74, as confirmed by the state government. His death announced in a statement by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye, occurred in the early hours of Saturday. Kisira served as the deputy to the immediate past governor of the state, Alhaji Abdulfattah Ahmed, from May 29, 2011, to May 29, 2019.

Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, expressed profound sadness at the demise of the former deputy governor. In a condolence message, Governor AbdulRazaq extended heartfelt sympathies to the people of Baruten and Kisira’s family, urging them to find solace in his exemplary service as both a public servant and a bureaucrat who ascended to the position of permanent secretary within the state’s civil service.

AbdulRazaq highlighted Kisira’s significant contributions, emphasizing his commitment to public service and dedication to noble causes. The governor stressed that Kisira’s legacy would be remembered fondly, underscoring his valuable role in shaping the governance trajectory in Kwara State.
