On Wednesday, the Kaduna State Fire Service officially acknowledged a fire outbreak at the well-known Panteka market in Kaduna. Mr. Paul Aboi, the Director of the Kaduna State Fire Service, informed the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the fire specifically impacted the timber section of the market. The distress call reporting the incident came from Mr. Sadiq Mohammed, who urgently contacted the fire department at 1 a.m. on Wednesday. Numerous other calls reporting the fire were also received.
Fortunately, Mr. Aboi reassured that there were no reported casualties or injuries among the traders as a result of the fire. The investigation into the cause of the fire is currently underway, and as of now, the exact reason remains unknown.
