Lagos State Consumer Protection Agency (LASCOPA) cautions residents about potential risks in buying fried plantains, commonly called “Plantain Chips,” due to questionable processing and frying practices.
The alert follows a viral image online showing a seller allegedly adding polythene (“rubber”) to the frying oil. In a statement on Wednesday, the agency expresses serious concerns about the health implications for consumers.
