On Friday, Godwin Emefiele, the former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, appeared in the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Maitama, Abuja, facing a 20-count charge related to corruption and forgery.
Arriving at the court in an ash-colored pair of trousers and a dark jacket, the ex-CBN governor was accompanied by his legal team and associates.
It is worth noting that Emefiele had initially been arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on six counts related to N1.2bn procurement allegations. Subsequently, with the court’s approval, the EFCC amended the charges against Emefiele.
