Afrobeat sensation Ahmed Ololade, popularly known as Asake, faces criticism from Christians for his latest music video, “Only Me.” The video, directed by TG Omori and amassing over 150,000 views in just five hours, depicts Asake clad in priestly attire, igniting controversy among viewers.
Solomon_Buchi, expressing his concerns via his handle on Thursday, highlighted Asake’s perceived disregard for Christianity in his music videos. He cited instances such as the dramatization of the Eucharist and the portrayal of priestly attire, arguing that such actions were disrespectful to the faith.
Furthermore, Solomon_Buchi questioned why Asake, whom he presumed to be Muslim, did not similarly challenge or depict his own faith in a controversial manner.
