An Israeli-American hostage passed away during captivity in Gaza

In a tragic development, 73-year-old Gadi Haggai, an Israeli-American dual national and hostage, who was abducted by Hamas from Kibbutz Nir Oz on October 7, has passed away while being held captive in Gaza, as confirmed by the Missing Persons Families Forum in a statement released on Friday.

Despite his demise, Haggai’s body remains in Gaza, the Forum reported.

Described as a man filled with humor and a passion for music, Gadi Haggai was a talented flautist who played in the IDF Orchestra and dedicated his life to music, according to the statement.

The Forum expressed deep sorrow for the loss, highlighting Haggai’s ability to bring laughter to those around him.

The incident occurred when Haggai, accompanied by his wife Judi, was on a morning walk on October 7 and was shot, resulting in critical injuries, as outlined in the statement.

Adding to the tragedy, Haggai’s wife, Judi, is still being held captive by Hamas.

The statement concludes with an expression of shared grief for the Haggai family, underscoring the profound impact of this unfortunate event.
