The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has alerted Nigerians about a new computer threat called ‘Ov3r_Steale.’ This malware specifically targets people who use Facebook.
The agency’s advisory, released on Monday, explains that the malware tricks Facebook users by disguising itself as job ads. Once someone clicks on these deceptive links, the malware gains unauthorized access to their personal information.
NITDA warns that ‘Ov3r_Steale’ is dangerous because it can also download other harmful software onto users’ devices. After clicking the fake job ad, users are redirected to a Discord URL, which then downloads the malware onto their device.
