Village Head in Kaduna Slain by Gunmen, Residence Set on Fire

Gunmen have struck in Kaduna State, targeting Malam Kabiru Mohammed, the village head of Marke in Dandamisa Ward, Makarfi Local Government Area. The assailants believed to be hired killers, invaded the victim’s residence around 12:30 am on Thursday, forcing everyone out of the compound. They proceeded to search for Malam Kabiru, who was hiding in the ceiling with his elder brother, Tukur Mohammed.

Despite attempts to conceal themselves, the gunmen eventually located Malam Kabiru, fatally attacking him before setting the house ablaze. The swift and ruthless nature of the attack left the community in shock, with a member who preferred anonymity recounting the horrifying ordeal.

Councilor Alhaji Aminu Sani Marke lamented the inability to recover the village head’s body due to the extensive damage caused by the fire. The gunmen, after spending about an hour ransacking the village, fled with valuable items worth millions of naira. Meanwhile, efforts to obtain official comments from the Kaduna State Police Command regarding the incident have been unsuccessful.
