President Bola Tinibu

President Bola Tinubu is currently presiding over the Federal Executive Council meeting at the Aso Chamber of the State House, Abuja. Alongside him are Vice President Kashim Shettima, Secretary to the Government of the Federation George Akume, Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila, Head of Service Dr. Folashade Yemi Esan, and at least 45 ministers for the 10th FEC meeting of the administration.

The council is set to consider a memorandum for the approval of the “revamping of the Renewed Hope Infrastructure Fund.” This change in agenda was highlighted by the SGF before the President’s arrival, replacing item #3.

Tinubu inaugurated the FEC on August 28, 2023, shifting meetings from Wednesdays to Mondays. The council’s purpose is to formulate policies, execute government projects, and aid the President in discharging his executive functions.

Despite the change in schedule, the Tinubu-led cabinet has only met 10 times in the past 31 weeks. Information Minister Mohammed Idris clarified that meetings would occur on Mondays only when there are memoranda to consider, not necessarily weekly.
