Former Benue Governor, Samuel Ortom, Embraces Inquiry into Administration’s Activities
Samuel Ortom, the immediate past Governor of Benue State, has openly embraced the commencement of two judicial commissions initiated by his successor, Governor Hyacinth Alia. These commissions are tasked with investigating the operations of Ortom’s administration from 2015 to 2023.
In a statement relayed by his media aide, Terver Akase, on Tuesday, Ortom conveyed his readiness to collaborate with the investigative panels, provided that the process adheres strictly to legal protocols. He emphasized that his governance was grounded in principles of transparency, accountability, and effective leadership.
“The former Governor underscores his willingness to furnish any necessary information or clarification as required. He encourages his former appointees to do the same when called upon,” the statement excerpted. Last August, Ortom had already signaled his preparedness to address any queries concerning his administration’s tenure.
