Ondo PDP suspends chairman for anti-party activities

The Ondo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has taken a disciplinary action against its state chairman, Fatai Adams, accusing him of engaging in activities detrimental to the party’s interests.

The suspension was formally announced by the party’s working committee in the state through a statement released on Tuesday.

The decision to suspend Fatai Adams was collectively endorsed by key members of the working committee, including the state deputy chairman, Tola Alabere; state secretary, Oluseye Olujimi; Organising Secretary, Dare Akinwale, and six other committee members.

According to the statement, the suspension is in accordance with Section 58(1) (b, c, f, h, and j) of the PDP Constitution, as amended in 2017.

The statement stressed that Fatai Adams is being suspended for alleged anti-party activities and actions that could potentially tarnish the party’s image.

It further conveyed that, based on the constitutional provisions, Adams is required to present himself before the State Disciplinary Committee for further investigations within the next week.

The PDP, in the statement, asserted its commitment to handling any encroachment by the ruling party, the APC, into its membership ranks with resolute measures.

The party made it clear that it will not tolerate activities that could undermine its integrity and reputation.
