During the grand finale of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology’s 16th convocation ceremony, the acting Vice Chancellor, Prof Razaq Kalilu, unveiled six new degree programs to enhance the institution’s academic landscape. Addressing the congregation inside the Great Hall of the university in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, Kalilu emphasized the university’s commitment to evolving educational mandates and the vision of its Visitor, Governor Seyi Makinde.
Highlighting the university’s academic expansion, Kalilu announced the establishment of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, which introduced six new degree programs: Psychology, Mass Communication, Linguistics, Yoruba, Theatre Arts, and Political Science. He further revealed plans for the Faculty of Law to commence a law degree program, pending National Universities Commission approval.
Echoing the call for excellence, integrity, and service, Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council, Prof Ayodeji Omole, urged the graduands to embody the values upheld by LAUTECH. As the graduates transition into their professional journeys, Omole encourages them to uphold the university’s legacy of knowledge, integrity, and progress, serving as beacons of excellence in their respective fields.
