The Kogi State Police Command has officially announced the liberation of Sheikh Quasim Musa, the Chief Imam of Iyara in Ijumu Local Government Area. Musa was abducted from his residence in Ilukpa, Iyara, by unidentified gunmen on March 25, 2024.
According to reports, the gunmen stormed his residence, firing shots indiscriminately before forcefully taking him away. The incident sent shockwaves through the community, prompting concerns for his safety and well-being.
In a statement issued by the State Police Public Relations Officer, SP William Aya, it was confirmed that Sheikh Quasim Musa regained his freedom on Saturday night. However, the statement did not disclose whether a ransom was paid for his release.
