CSOs Slam IGP for Pulling Police Support from Kano Anti-Corruption Agency

The Nigeria Police Force has restated its ban on the use of Point-of-Sale terminal machines and other mobile money transaction devices within police stations and facilities nationwide. The decision comes amid concerns over alleged illegal transactions and collusion between POS machine operators and certain police personnel, prompting the force to address the issue to uphold its integrity.

According to a statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, some commands and formations within the NPF have been observed flouting the regulation, necessitating the reaffirmation of the ban. The primary objective behind this prohibition is to safeguard the security and credibility of police operations.

ACP Adejobi emphasized the risks associated with the use of payment devices within police premises, highlighting concerns such as the compromise of sensitive information and the facilitation of illicit activities. The ban aims to address these challenges and maintain the integrity of the police force’s operations nationwide.
