The federal government has established a 17-member Inter-Ministerial Committee on the 2024 Democracy Day Celebration, tasked with organizing a memorable and fitting anniversary event. Inaugurating the committee in his office on Wednesday, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, emphasized the significance of commemorating Democracy Day as an occasion to honor the contributions and sacrifices of Nigeria’s national heroes and heroines in the fight for democratic governance.
According to a statement by Mr. Segun Imohiosen, the Director of Information and Public Relations in Akume’s office, the annual Democracy Day Celebration also serves as an opportunity for Nigeria to showcase its achievements in addressing various social and economic challenges facing the nation.
