Fauci is set to make an appearance before the House COVID-19 Panel

Anthony Fauci is scheduled to testify before the House Pandemic Subcommittee regarding his contributions to the public health response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The former White House medical adviser will engage in a two-day interview in January with the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic, focusing on his role in managing public health during the COVID-19 crisis.

The transcribed interview, slated for January 8th to the 9th, will span seven hours each day, with two government and two personal attorneys in attendance.

The subcommittee announced that Fauci had agreed to testify later in 2024, in addition to his initial interview.

Following his departure from the government last year, House Republicans have expressed their intention to question Fauci. Having served as the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases for nearly 40 years, Fauci has been a focal point of scrutiny.

Upon Fauci’s initial resignation announcement, Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) stated on X that Fauci “owes the American people answers,” and the majority of the House GOP is poised to hold him accountable.

During that period, Fauci declared his commitment to collaborating with House Republicans to thoroughly investigate the COVID-19 pandemic.

After stepping down, he took on the role of distinguished professor at Georgetown University.

Chairing the Subcommittee, Brad Wenstrup (R-Ohio.) issued a statement, noting that Fauci’s testimony “will play a vital role in the Select Subcommittee’s inquiries into the origins of COVID-19, mandatory measures, gain-of-function research, scientific censorship, and related matters.”

“It is now the moment for Dr. Fauci to confront the realities and respond to the various controversies that have emerged throughout and following the pandemic,” Wenstrup added. “The American people deserve reliable public health leaders who prioritize the welfare of our citizens over personal or political objectives.”
