In a verdict delivered by Justice K.I. Okpe of the Enugu State High Court, Chiamaka Ifezue has been sentenced to death by hanging for the tragic killing of 27-year-old makeup artist Ijeoma Nneke on November 11, 2020. Ifezue, alongside her brother Chukwuemeka, faced charges of conspiracy and murder in 2021.
The court found them guilty of coercing Nneke into consuming a toxic substance, resulting in her untimely demise. Following the fatal act, the perpetrators allegedly disposed of Nneke’s body in the Maryland area of Enugu city, further exacerbating the crime by dousing it with a suspected corrosive substance, presumed to be acid.
