A Federal High Court in Kano has intervened in the suspension saga involving Abdullahi Ganduje, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC). Following an ex parte motion filed by Ganduje, the court ordered a halt to the enforcement of his suspension by his ward.
The ruling, issued late on Wednesday, responded to Ganduje’s plea for his fundamental right to a fair hearing. The application named various respondents, including law enforcement agencies and several individuals connected to the suspension.
The suspension stemmed from purported actions by APC executives in Dawakin ward, Tofa LGA of Kano State, alleging corruption against Ganduje. Despite subsequent nullifications by the State Working Committee of the APC, the presiding Judge at a Kano High Court upheld the suspension. However, the recent ex parte order from the Federal High Court puts a pause on the enforcement until the case is thoroughly heard and decided, with a hearing scheduled for April 30.
