The governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed, has received validation of his election victory from the Supreme Court.
Despite the attempts by Sadique Abubakar, the All Progressives Congress governorship candidate, to overturn Mohammed’s win by alleging significant non-compliance with the Electoral Act, both the tribunal and the appellate court dismissed Abubakar’s petition for lack of merit.
Delivering the primary judgment on Friday, Justice Ibrahim Saulawa ruled against the appellant on all six issues, stating that the appeal lacked merit. Responding to the verdict on X, the governor attributed the triumph to the people of the state and his political party.
