Blaze Engulfs 50 Shops in Kano Market

In the early hours of Monday, a devastating blaze ravaged Yan Katako Market in the Rijiyar Lemu area of Fagge Local Government Area in Kano State, resulting in the destruction of more than 50 shops and assets valued at N150 million.

Alhaji Mamuda Abdullahi, the market’s chairman, informed reporters that the inferno ignited around 1 am. The affected shops housed various items including plywood, foam, spray machines, chairs, and carpentry tools.

While the exact cause remains undetermined, Abdullahi praised the swift intervention of the Kano State Fire Service personnel in containing the blaze.
