AFCON 2023: Ajayi expresses confidence that the Super Eagles will rectify things in the match against Cote d’Ivoire

Semi Ajayi expresses optimism about the Super Eagles’ performance in their upcoming match at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

In their first game against Equatorial Guinea on Sunday, the three-time champions did not perform at their peak, resulting in a 1-1 draw against Nzalang Nacional after coming from behind.

The Super Eagles are set for a significant encounter with hosts Cote d’Ivoire at the Alssanne Quattara Stadium Ebimpe, Abidjan, on Thursday.

Ajayi, a player for West Bromwich Albion in the Sky Bet Championship, believes that the team will overcome challenges, stating, “We created a lot of chances but we need to be more clinical, and we are working on that to rectify things in the next game,” as he assured reporters.

Acknowledging the need for improvement, Ajayi emphasized that the team has discussed their shortcomings and is committed to putting in the effort to ensure a better performance in the upcoming match.
