President Bola Tinubu has named Dr. Idris Muhammad Sani as the new Executive Secretary/CEO of the National Commission for Almajiri and Out-of-School Children Education. Ajuri Ngelale, the presidential spokesman, made this announcement in a statement, highlighting Dr. Sani’s academic background with master’s and doctorate degrees in Islamic Studies. Dr. Sani brings a wealth of experience to the role, having served in prestigious positions such as Director-General of Al-Iman School Lafia and Commissioner of Basic/Secondary Education in Yobe State.
Dr. Sani’s professional journey also includes notable roles like chairman of the Nigerian Arabic Language Village in Borno State and Secretary-General of the Association of Private Schools in Nasarawa State. With his diverse experience and expertise, Dr. Sani is expected to contribute significantly to the Commission’s mission of addressing the challenges faced by Almajiri and out-of-school children in Nigeria.
Additionally, Ngelale revealed that President Tinubu has reversed the appointment of retired Brig.-Gen. Lawal Ja’afaru Isa (Rtd) as the executive secretary of the commission, signifying a shift in leadership and strategy within the organization under Dr. Sani’s stewardship.
