Soldier Vows Retribution for Fallen Comrades in Delta Attack

A Nigerian soldier named Egitanghan G has voiced his determination to participate in any operation aimed at avenging the deaths of military personnel killed during a peacekeeping mission in Delta State last week. Hailing from Delta State himself, the soldier expressed deep dismay at what he described as disrespectful remarks made about the deceased soldiers.

In a TikTok video shared on Wednesday, Egitanghan G recounted his own experiences serving his country and underscored the sacrifices made by soldiers in defense of their homeland. Speaking in pidgin English, he passionately addressed his fellow Niger Delta residents, condemning the killings and the subsequent comments made about them.

He lamented the loss of lives, particularly emphasizing the sacrifices made by soldiers from various regions across Nigeria. He rejected the notion of forgiving those responsible for the deaths of frontline soldiers, asserting the need for retribution. Expressing his fervent desire to be part of any retaliatory operation, he stressed the importance of unity and solidarity in seeking justice for the fallen soldiers.

The soldiers who lost their lives were members of the 181 Amphibious Battalion, deployed to address community clashes in Bomadi Local Government of Delta State. The attack, which occurred last Thursday, resulted in the deaths of a Nigerian Army commander, three officers, and 12 soldiers. Reports indicated that some of the recovered bodies had been mutilated, with heads severed and vital organs missing, adding further horror to the tragic incident.
