Edo State Deputy Governor and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial aspirant for the 2024 election, Philip Shaibu, has conveyed his confidence in receiving the support of the incumbent governor, Godwin Obaseki, in his pursuit of the governorship. The election, scheduled by the Independent National Electoral Commission for September 21, 2024, has heightened the political activities in the state.
Philip Shaibu, who declared his intent to secure the governorship ticket of the PDP in November 2023, remains steadfast in his ambition, asserting that no one can impede his quest for the party’s nomination. With an extensive political career spanning three decades and having collaborated with Governor Obaseki for the past seven years to enhance the state’s development, Shaibu believes he is uniquely positioned to succeed his current principal.
