Portuguese coach José Peseiro has officially departed from his role as the manager of the Super Eagles after his contract concluded on Thursday. Peseiro, who guided the Eagles to a second-place finish in the 2023 African Cup of Nations, expressed his fulfillment in coaching the West African nation.
In a statement released on Friday, he thanked the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF), including President Amaju Pinnick and Secretary Mohammed Sanusi, as well as the players, for the privilege of leading the team. Peseiro conveyed his gratitude and best wishes to all involved, emphasizing his ongoing support for the team regardless of his departure.
