The Indigenous People of Biafra has rebuffed any further court proceedings involving its leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, affirming its adherence to the ruling of the Appeal Court, which barred Kanu from facing trial in Nigerian courts. In Abuja, a Federal High Court set March 19, 2024, for deliberation on Kanu’s latest bail plea.
The trial, adjourned by Justice Binta Nyanko, is slated to recommence on March 20, following arguments from both sides. This comes after the Court of Appeal’s exoneration of Kanu in October 2022, prompting the trial’s suspension.
